All of them include a bottle of Pruno.
Since its release, Pruno, the new wine produced by the Villacreces winery, has been a success, becoming one of the most demanded wines. Its attractive price together with its aromatic profile, which stands out for being fruity, round and elegant, make it a very affordable option among wine lovers.
Pruno is a red wine of the D. O. Ribera del Duero made by themselves. From the 64 hectares of vineyards surrounding the winery in Quintanilla de Onésimo, planted on trellises (cordon royat) around 1980.
It is produced in a natural harvest in boxes of 15kg. with a double selection of grapes and clusters on the table and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Aged after 12 months in French oak barrels from the Darnajou and Taransaud cooperages. Its variety is 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
In terms of tasting notes, an intense cherry red with a purplish rim. Intense aroma, with complex and concentrated notes of roasted cocoa and coffee caramel with a background of red fruit jam (blueberry and cherry). Mineral souvenir. Powerful, meaty and well-structured. Ample, with good volume and well-integrated ripe tannins. Dark chocolate and balsamic hints of black licorice.
The best Spanish wine in history for less than $20, according to Robert Parker, comes from the same Finca Villacreces, located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, with poor soils and contrasts, bathed by the Duero River.
A wine with a denomination of origin is one that has a seal of guarantee that certifies that it has been produced entirely in a specific wine region, in this case Valladolid, with a process carried out in accordance with specific and officially regulated quality criteria.
The distinctive character of these wines is due to three key factors: the climate, the complexity of the terroir and the high altitude of the vineyards, one of the highest in the northern hemisphere.
