You will be able to see our small vineyard of one and a half hectares of prieto picudo and albarín, both native varieties of León. Our production is very exclusive and made by the family members themselves.
Instead of automating processes, we try to do everything “by hand” so as not to lose the essence of what was once done to produce wine in Los Oteros, an area with a great winemaking tradition.
We will show you our winemaking room, where we house our small machinery to carry out the winemaking processes involved: labeling machine, bottling machine, encapsulator, wooden press, etc.
We will then move on to our first subway cave. It is the same as it was a century ago, with no electricity or pavement. We are fortunate to preserve a fantastic beam of approximately 8 meters with which the wine was pressed in the past. We will tell you about the rest of the processes that were carried out in the past.
Afterwards, we will head to our other subway cave. Here, we age our wines in French and American oak barrels and where you can taste the wines in the process of elaboration, which depending on the time of the year of your visit, will have more or less aging.
And we reached the final phase. The one that for many is the best, we will taste our 3 elaborations, first our 100 Cepas Albarín white and then our range of reds, the 100 Cepas with 11 or 12 months in barrel and the 100 Cepas CRIANZA with more than 20 months in barrel, both 100% prieto picudo.
And finally, we will accompany the wines with a small pairing of typical products from León.
